Michelle volunteered in the Criminal Justice system for fifteen years, first as a Referral Panel Member for a Youth Offending Team and then as a Magistrate. She is currently a post-graduate researcher in criminology at the University of Birmingham, where her research explores the experiences of parents whose children are in trouble with the law. Alongside her academic interests, Michelle is a writer who leads community-based storytelling projects, using narrative to amplify lived experience and foster connection.
